The "Mannheimer Meile" comprises the rowing distance of 1852 meters in the Mannheim "Mühlau" harbour. On May 27th and 28th, this harbour will be the center of top athletic performance. The daily bustle of harbour life will yield to concentrated competition as the international rowing elite fights for their medals between cranes and containers. But the "Mühlau" harbour offers a lot more: it provides almost identical conditions in every lane, for the wind is the same in all parts of the harbour. Thus every contest in the "Oberrheinische Ruderregatta" is a fair race, and an exciting sporting event in unique surroundings.
